MCFC’s 2026 Film Student Scholarship Application Deadline is Feb. 22

(Feb. 10, 2026) — The deadline for applying for the Monterey County Film Commission’s 2026 Director Emeritus Richard Tyler Film Student Scholarship Award Program for aspiring Monterey County film students is Feb. 22, 2026.

The $2,000 award is being offered by the non-profit Monterey County Film Commission, and has a permanent endowment with the Community Foundation for Monterey County.

Applications are online only at https://FilmMonterey.org/Scholarship/.  The recipient(s) of the scholarship award will be announced by April 1. 

The program was created to provide financial aid and incentive to students of film and beginning filmmakers who reside in Monterey County and are currently enrolled in a community college or university in the county.

Funding has been supported by the Craig and Paula Tigerman family, Dino Cocalis, Honest Engine Films, Annee Martin, and other local businesses and individuals.
