Katrina helped…and you can, too, with Birdies for Charity Program.
The Monterey County Film Commission thanks Katrina Mendez, who
represented our nonprofit in the 2011 fundraiser 'closest to the pin' shootout at Pebble Beach's Peter Hay Golf Course. This was part of the Birdies for Charity program sponsored by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, which hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.
Katrina is a member of the AT&T Junior Golf program and a sophomore at Santa Catalina School and on the golf team. She did a great job competing on getting closest to the hole, coming in 17th among nearly 73 participating organizations. Her mother Quentina and father Joe were there to cheer her on, as was Moira LaMountain, the film commission's office administrator. Her shot was 7 feet and 4 inches from the hole!
